Facilities


The Department has excellent laboratory infrastructural facilities and the students are trained in the following laboratories to enhance their practical skills. Some of them are:

  • Electrical Machines Lab The Electrical Machines Laboratory is set up with a vision to support the teaching and research activities of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. The Laboratory is equipped with a collection of AC & DC. This lab helps the students to develop experimental skill, familiarize with the constructional details of different types, working principle and performance of different Electrical Machines.
  • Electrical measurements Lab The Electrical Measurements Laboratory is set up with a vision to support the teaching and learning activities of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. It set up with a vision to enhance students to learn the basic concepts in Electrical Engineering. The Laboratory is equipped with a collection of AC & DC. This lab helps the students to develop experimental skill, familiarize with the constructional details of different types, working principle and performance of different electrical meters, bridges and trainer kits.
  • Electrical and Electronics workshop This lab introduces the students to the basic electrical measuring equipments and they will deal with some of the frequently used instruments and equipments, like the digital multimeter, tester etc. The students obtain the basic knowledge about different types of wiring circuits, behavior of current, voltage, power, energy under different conditions and their determination. They can also gain knowledge about residential wiring, trouble shooting various electrical equipments like ceiling fan, other electrical gadgets. These experiments help to provide them the foundation they require to be Electrical engineers.
  • Power Electronics Lab Power Electronics Lab, which comes under the Department of Electrical& Electronics engineering has got the state of the art lab facilities, maintains high standard in academics and act as a research & project centre in the area of Power conversion technology for the students and the faculty. This lab addresses the issues related to energy conversion, power converters, PWM Techniques etc. Simulation verification of the actual circuit can be done here through the most modern software tools such as MATLAB, PSIM etc. Experiments and projects in the lab include different types of triggering circuits, AC-DC controlled rectification of power circuits, DC-AC conversion using PWM techniques, etc.
  • Microprocessor Lab The lab is equipped with a large no. of 8085 & 8086 microprocessor kits along with the peripherals and microcontrollers. List of Important Machinery and Equipments include 8085 based microprocessor kits, 8086 based microprocessor kits, Kit with EPROM programmer facility, Add-on digital bread boards, IC design kits, Oscilloscopes, Signal generators etc.
  • Systems and Control Lab The main focus of Control and Simulation Laboratory is in supporting the teaching and research activities of The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, under Control Division. The laboratory is equipped with up to date equipment’s and software’s to support our under graduates experiments, students projects and research projects etc.
  • Digital Circuits Lab A variety of digital circuits like adders, counters, multivibrators etc are designed and set up here. This lab is currently running with large no. of digital trainer kits as per the current strength of students. List of Important Machinery and Equipments: Digital circuts trainer kits, Power supply boards for trainer kits, Digital IC
  • Software Lab The student gets an exposure to software languages like C and learns to use them for analysis and solving mathematical problems. Various Simulation softwares like Matlab, Mi-Power, etc are available which helps students to simulate real time conditions in power system and get a clear picture of the operation
  • Power System Lab This laboratory is equipped with the power system components employed in the real world. The simulation of power systems can be done in any of the softwares available in the lab. The testing of any power system equipment can be done within the capacity of each testing equipment. The testing kits in the lab are the same as that used by the International standard testing labs.
